My first time visiting Isla Mujeres in 2003, I was soooo EXCITED to rent a golf cart and toot my way around at my own pace. Golf carts are the preferred way to get around Isla. The island itself is only 5 miles/8 kms long, getting around on Isla Mujeres is easy, you have to try really hard to get lost.
