Getting to your Playa del Carmen AIRBNB by bus will take you a few steps. The ADO buses run from the Cancun airport on a regular schedule, though there are no early morning or late night buses (first bus around 8 am, last bus just before midnight). You can purchase your ticket at the Cancun airport, we recommend buying it once you are outside the terminal and see the official signs for ADO bus to Playa del Carmen. This way you can ensure you are on the next departing bus. The cost is about 216 MXN pesos (this may vary at any time) and the trip takes about an hour and ten minutes.

You will disembark the bus at the bustling ADO bus station on 5th Avenue Playa del Carmen. This is very convenient if you are staying close to the station but can be a hassle if you are carrying a lot of baggage or traveling in a larger group. From the ADO station you an walk to a few of the 5th Avenue Hotels or if you prefer, you can exit the station and turn to your right to find the taxi stand. From here you can hire a taxi to take you to your Playacar or Playa del Carmen AIRBNB, always ask the price before you enter the taxi and ensure you have all belongings with you when you exit the taxi.

There is a second Playa del Carmen bus terminal called the alterna, located at Av. 20 and Calle 12. This can be convenient for you depending on the location of your vacation digs

Renting a car in Playa del Carmen is popular for those with an adventurous attitude towards travel. We recommend renting from a name brand agency and purchasing the extra insurance, it is worth your peace of mind. Getting from the Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen by rental car is really quite simple, a straight shot south for about an hour down the 307 highway. Once in Playa del Carmen, the city is laid out in quadrants and easy to follow streets running north/south and east/west, have your phone GPS handy with your Airbnb coordinates or ask your host to send you the location via whatsapp or text.

Traveling from the Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen by taxi is not recommended. Technically you cannot get a taxi at the airport but if you do it will be the most expensive way to travel and the least reliable. Independent taxi drivers do not offer you the security and we do advise against taking taxis from the airport or between cities. There is no Uber or any other rideshare at the Cancun Airport.
